To counter these lies we will turn to God to see who He says we are and where our true identity as men lies! It’s going to be an unbelievable time together! 

God has blessed us, and He desires for us to bless others as well.  But what does that actually look like?  How can we best serve those around us on our college or university campus?  Join the team from The Hub (a university chaplaincy in Belfast) as they help us to think about what it looks like to faithfully and practically serve the different people we interact with every day.  While this seminar is mainly for those who are about to leave school or who are studying at college or university, we really hope that there’s something encouraging in it for everyone!

This seminar will explore what each one of us can do when life feels Shaken. And let’s face it, this can be quite a lot of the time! This seminar, led by Jen Christie, will be full of biblical hope and practical guidance to help young people find healthy coping mechanisms that work for them, and which help them live well. We are each uniquely made and loved by God and there will be a way for each of us to uniquely cope with the difficult things in our difficult days.

Come and learn from Leah McCourt (pro MMA fighter), Brian Adair (football agent) and Claire Dowey (N.I. Women's Volleyball National Team Captain) as they share their experiences of being Salt and Light in a competitive sporting environment.

Brian Adair:  Brian is a former Irish League player and Manager and is now a licenced FA agent and owner of OneTwo Football Agency, a leading football agency in the UK and Europe. 

Claire Dowey:  Claire has been playing volleyball since she was a young girl and has worked hard and battled several major injuries to eventually become the N.I. National Team captain.  She recently led the team in the CEV SCA European Championships.

Leah McCourt:  Leah is mixed martial artist and competes in the Featherweight division of Bellator MMA. She is a former IMMAF World and European Amateur champion and International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation gold medalist. She is also a black belt in Judo.

Flux: A time of constant or flowing change.   Is there any greater flux than when we’re about to leave school?  There are often thousands of questions buzzing around our heads!  Who am I?  Am I the person my teachers or friends want me to be?  What college or university will I go to next?  What course will I study?  Will I go for a job or an apprenticeship?  What will I do next year?  Where will my friends be?  Where will we go when we’re all far apart?  Where does my faith fit into all of these questions?  We’d love you to join us as the team from Christian Unions Ireland help us to think about what God has to say to us in the midst of all these kinds of questions.

Finding balance on a balance board might look easy but finding your balance – or being steady - is tricky! It takes practice and strength in core parts of your body. Christina Baillie will be demonstrating how to fall off the balance board with style and introducing you to Steady. Steady is packed full of exercises, reflections, and stories to help you strengthen the core of you (your mind, heart and soul) and access God’s constant steadiness in your day-to-day life.

Back in the 1990s, when Northern Ireland was still a warzone, Paul led a small team from England who camped, fasted, wept and prayed at Drumcree that the relentless recycling of sectarian hostility would end. Amazingly, God responded to these and countless other prayers and brought about a huge change, which is now a matter of history. Paul has recently been in war-weary Ukraine, and brings some reflections on showing up when others are leaving.

In the Bible, lament is the prayer which makes that room. It is the cry for all of us who ache over the way things in this world are, but aren’t content to let them stay that way. Come along to this seminar to discover more, and learn how to lament like some of the Bible’s best known and most loved figures.

Division. Conflict. Intolerance. Religion often seems to be near the centre of the world's biggest problems. With the Russian Orthodox Church supporting the war in Ukraine, can Christians claim any moral high ground at all? Sounds like it causes more problems than it solves... or is that all too simplistic?

Join Simon as he tackles some of the biggest questions of today!

Whether you can’t draw more than a stickman, or you are an oil paint expert, God can speak to you and others through your art. Local artists Natasha Gilliland and Zoe Cummings will share some stories of how they use their art to worship God, and will give you the opportunity too to try it out.

We make loads of decisions every day. Most of the decisions we make are fairly minor and instinctual - we choose what TV show to watch, what to eat for lunch, or what to do in our spare time. We often don’t spend hours agonising over those kinds of decisions.  We just get on with it and make the most of our day.  There are those times though when decisions seem bigger – What subjects should I study at school?  Which colleges or universities should I apply for?  Should I take a gap year?  These are the kinds of decisions that we can spend weeks, even months pondering.  In this seminar, we’ll spend some time thinking together about God’s faithfulness to us and how we might seek His guidance in the decisions that we have to make.

Led by Paul Gallucci, this seminar will give you a taste of The Big House resource, Strong, which is yet to be published. This sneak peek will explore what it means to be Strong and begin to explore the incredible dynamics that occur when we allow Jesus to be the connector between our weaknesses and God’s strength. Maybe you’re a budding Shakespeare or like to write the odd short story. Perhaps you’ve never written much at all. Whatever the case, this workshop is for anyone interested in having a go at writing. We’ll take you through a series of writing exercises which will help to unlock your imagination and get your creativity flowing. 

Prayer Ministry takes a number of forms at Madness - from MainStage response times to ongoing intercession throughout the festival, and this year we are thrilled to introduce Prophetic Appointments into the mix!

This is not fortune telling or predictions or anything weird like that. This is simply a space where you can retreat from the noise for a few short minutes and be prayed over by a team of gentle and gifted individuals who will sensitively listen for the "still small voice" of God and humbly offer to you what they believe He might be saying.

Remember, if you're under 18, you need to bring an 18+ youth leader with your group.
